Counseling for Fathers:
Assistance transitioning through divorce and no longer having daily contact with your children.
Assistance transitioning through divorce and no longer having daily contact with your children.
Societal stigma makes it difficult for men to ask for help. Fatherhood can be a lonely experience for many, where the instinct is to suppress emotions in the name of "manhood".
For divorced fathers, the emotional toil can be even more difficult. You got married and had children with the expectation that you would spend the next 18+ years having breakfast and dinner with your children every day, helping them with their homework, being a daily part of their lives.
With divorce, that dream is lost. Even the most civil separations of marriage result in no more than 50% time spent with the children by either parent. Sadly in most divorce cases for fathers, the time awarded with their children is much less than 50%.
At Counseling Today, we help fathers transition through and post-divorce by treating divorce for what it is: the loss of a future you thought you would have.
Our sessions are aimed at helping fathers navigate divorce from the perspective of grief counseling. We work with you to not only engage with the emotional aspect, but help build practical coping strategies to manage the loss of the family structure, the anxiety regarding financial issues and socialization difficulties.
Helping dads process the grief, identity loss, and emotional struggles of divorce and child custody disputes through structured coping strategies and guided support.
Empowering fathers to manage high-conflict co-parenting while prioritizing their child’s well- being, reducing stress, and improving communication with a difficult ex-partner.
Supporting divorced fathers in rebuilding identity, self-esteem, and emotional resilience after separation, custody battles, or loss of daily parenting time.
Customized coaching to help rebuild trust, strengthen father-child relationships, and reconnect after estrangement, parental alienation, or limited visitation.
Providing emotional regulation techniques to help fathers manage anger, frustration, and anxiety related to divorce, co-parenting conflicts, and legal stress.
Guiding fathers through custody disputes, mediation, and court hearings with emotional preparation strategies to reduce stress and improve case outcomes.
Helping fathers process the silent grief of losing full-time parenthood, cope with emotional distress, and rebuild a purpose-driven post-divorce life.
Assisting fathers in designing structured, child-focused parenting plans to maintain strong bonds and navigate shared custody or limited visitation agreements.
Helping fathers navigate cross-border custody disputes, relocation challenges, and international parenting struggles to stay connected with their children.
Offering specialized coaching to counteract parental alienation, restore father-child relationships, and develop strategies to reconnect with alienated children.
